About Auction Valuations

These appraisals are usually given verbally, and are based on our specialist knowledge of the pieces and experience of the current auction market; in addition to our own market knowledge we have access to a national and international database of auction results. Any figures suggested, are estimated selling prices at an auction; these values differ from other types of valuation, most notably insurance valuations.

Having discussed the saleability of your pieces with you, if you wish to proceed with the sale, we will issue an Auction Contract/Receipt listing the items consigned, with any estimates and agreed reserves. We will run through the charges and explain the auction process; we can arrange transportation (chargeable) if required. You will need to provide two forms of ID, and, if you are acting on behalf of another person, proof of authority.

Your items will be sold in an appropriate Auction, benefitting from local, national, international and on-line marketing. We will keep you informed with pre-sale notifications and results; we aim to settle vendor accounts within twenty-one working days.
