Bidding

If you wish to bid for anything at one of our auctions you can do so in several ways:

In Person:

You will need to register at the Saleroom Reception for a Bidding Number: two proofs of identity will be required.

Absentee bid (known as a Commission bid):

Complete a 'Commission Bidding Form' in the sale-room and hand it in at Reception, dictate your bid(s) to one of our team by telephone (01404 47783 option 2) or send your bids by email; include your address and contact details, tell us the lot number(s) and the highest hammer price that you are prepared to bid up to for each lot. We will email you with a confirmation of your bids, and aim to buy on your behalf for the lowest available price.

Telephone bid:

For higher value or speculative lots, you can be on the phone to one of our staff members who will relay the bidding between you and the auctioneer; please ring by the evening before sale-day to book a telephone line.

Live online bidding:

All of our auctions offer two live online bidding platforms: www.easyliveaution.com and www.the-saleroom.com. Live online bidding is available by going direct through our website.  You will need to register to bid. These options also enable you to leave 'Autobids' which are hidden from the auctioneer; if you are leaving Autobids, please click the 'plus one' option.

Live online bidding fees, charged in addition to the saleroom Buyers Premium (all subject to VAT) are as follows:

  • Through easyliveauction.com website - 3% of hammer price or flat fee of £3:00
