An 18thC Chinese porcelain Imari palette Charger, probably Kangxi/Yongzheng, the well decorated with flower basket in underglaze blue and overpainted red and gilt, enclosed within foliate border, further decorations verso, chip to rim, D 32.8cm, together with another 18thC Chinese imari Charger, also decorated with flower basket, damaged and repaired, D 35.5cm and an 18thC Chinese Plate of smaller size, of similar subject matter, damaged and restuck, D 22.2cm, and a Chinese famille verte Plate, the well decorated with enamels enclosed within moulded rim, repaired, D 22.5cm, also with another very similar (5)
Provenance - The Damien Parsons Collection. The property of the late John Damien Parsons, an East Devon architect and husband of poet Patricia Beer, whose interest in Asian Art was sparked after he inherited a few pieces of Chinese porcelain from his grandfather. Over many decades Parsons continued to add to the collection, sourcing Chinese and Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art from exhibitions and other collections. Pieces from the Parsons Collection were recently exhibited at Mount Edgcumbe.
