A pair of Edwardian silver Casters, hallmarked for Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, London 1903, each bearing facsimile signature 'L. Movio', with typical embossed foliate decoration on a lightly hammered ground, the lift off covers corrspondingly hallmarked, not signed, 11.5cm high, approx. total weight 7.1ozt, Latino Movio (1858-1949) is generally accepted as a likely apprentice to Gilbert Marks, whose work ceased abruptly around 1902 because of ill health, Movio's facsimile signature appears on chased and embossed Arts and Crafts' silver hallmarked between 1901 and 1907 and it is likely that he continued to produce works in the popular style of his former master, even adopting the telltale script signature after Marks was unable to continue.
