Ley Kenyon (1913-1990), Sunshine and Shadow, watercolour, signed, 27cm x 36cm, framed  and glazed, together with a pencil study by the same artist of an ancient chapel, titled ‘Beyond Assini’, signed and dated 1987, 20cm x 27cm, overmounted, not framed (2) Note: Ley Kenyon was an accomplished artist and was recommended to be an official war artist during W.W.II.  He was captured and sent to Stalag Luft III where he was asked by the Senior British Officer (SBO) to sketch every stage of the escape tunnel. Kenyon became the 'Forger' for what became known as 'The Great Escape' in March 1944. Ley Kenyon was one of the seventy-six officers to escape, but he was recaptured after being found hiding up a tree.
