A 19thC Tibetan silver and parcel-gilt ceremonial Teapot / Ewer, the plain tapering circular body with long narrow neck and circular mouth, scroll neck and hollow handle, all with scrolling gilded collars, the removable domed cover with corresponding decoration and lotus bud finial, chain linked to handle, tested, all unmarked, 29cm high, 38.5ozt (1199g), some dents to body and finial loose, spout slightly loose.
Provenance; Col. R.L Vance RAMC (Indian Medical Service) serving in India and Tibet in the early 20thC, up until the 1930's, by family tradition having received items as personal gifts from grateful patients.
There are knocks and creases throughout the body, I have tried to photograph these in the extra images I have uploaded, finial loose, chain ok and gilding in good overall condition.
