Tribal Art; three early 20th century Javanese Wayang Golek (rod puppets), formed of carved painted wood, wearing printed cotton clothing, with operating rods, approx, 50cm long, together with a Balinese silver (900) serving Slice, with puppet finial, and a printing block (5) Provenance: from the puppet collection of puppeteer Francis Redvers (1899-1978). Francis entertained the troops during WWII working for ENSA, as well as appearing on the BBC in 1939 and giving a performance to Queen Mary 1941.
