A near pair of early 18thC Chinese porcelain blue and white Plates, the well decorated with flower basket motif and enclosed by repetitive panels of flowers, D 21.8cm, pictorial mark verso, one damaged and restuck, together with another early 18thC blue and white Plate, with lobed rim, D 21cm, restored, also with five further 18thC blue and white plates of varying sizes, the largest with restoration, D 21.8cm, the smallest also restored and the other with pictorial mark verso and hairline crack (8)
Provenance - The Damien Parsons Collection. The property of the late John Damien Parsons, an East Devon architect and husband of poet Patricia Beer, whose interest in Asian Art was sparked after he inherited a few pieces of Chinese porcelain from his grandfather. Over many decades Parsons continued to add to the collection, sourcing Chinese and Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art from exhibitions and other collections. Pieces from the Parsons Collection were recently exhibited at Mount Edgcumbe.
