An 18thC Chinese porcelain famille rose Charger, c. 1730, the well decorated with famille jaune bowl containing exotic fruits, enclosed within scale borders, red floral decoration verso, staple repair, D 32.5cm, together with a pair famille rose plates of similar age, decorated with ornate flower baskets, and another with brown scale decoration, cracked and restuck, D 22.5cm, the other also broken and restuck, D 22.3cm, also with a famille rose Bowl, decorated in colourful enamels damaged and restuck, D 22.8cm (5)
Provenance - The Damien Parsons Collection. The property of the late John Damien Parsons, an East Devon architect and husband of poet Patricia Beer, whose interest in Asian Art was sparked after he inherited a few pieces of Chinese porcelain from his grandfather. Over many decades Parsons continued to add to the collection, sourcing Chinese and Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art from exhibitions and other collections. Pieces from the Parsons Collection were recently exhibited at Mount Edgcumbe.
